Ann Marie Lucey

Qualifications: B.Sc. Physio MISCP
Post Graduate Certificate Orthopaedic Manual Therapy.
Post Graduate Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy.

Special Interests: Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Chronic Pain Management.

I graduated from University College Dublin in 2005 with a B. Sc Physiotherapy (Hons) degree. Once I completed my degree I returned to Cork and worked as a Junior Physiotherapist at the Bons Secours hospital Cork for two years enjoying rotations through respiratory, neurology, the ICU, orthopaedics and outpatients. I truly enjoyed working in musculoskeletal care. I decided to up sticks and set my sites on New Zealand and Australia, where sport and physiotherapy are central to people’s health and well-being. I worked in several practices in the few years I spent between the two countries. The experience abroad was extremely rewarding and enriching. I worked alongside titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists, who provided me mentorship and challenged my thinking. I worked in a clinic which ran controlled trials from the local University of Queensland, which was fascinating to measure the effectiveness and impact of Physiotherapy on various conditions. I returned to Cork with this experience and have enjoyed managing Blackpool Physiotherapy Clinic since 2013. I have completed post graduate Certificates in Sports Physiotherapy (University of Bath) and Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (Perth, Australia). I am a practicing member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists and I am committed to continuing my professional development.

Testimonials

I have been attending Blackpool Physio for many years.  Ann is an excellent physio and does not keep bringing you back unnecessarily.  After a few hands on treatments and dry needling it always works.

Paul

I attended Blackpool Physio in January 2019 with acute back pain.  I got an appointment very quickly and the physio treatment was superb.  After a number of sessions and rehabilitation exercise programme, I ran my first half marathon in September 2019.

Ann

I attended Blackpool Physio for the first time after knee surgery.  The Physio staff were very friendly and put me at ease right away.  Huge success after my treatments and I am back walking at ease again.

Phil

Super Efficient staff and the “Lisas” at reception always fit me in.

Tom

I always get a sports massage here after races.  A real treat.

Claire

I attended Blackpool Physio during my pregnancy with lower back pain.  I found the sessions really brilliant and got super relief from them.

Catherine

I suffer hugely with arthritis in my knees and Jesse is the only one that can give me relief.  After years of going to different Physio therapists elsewhere, I struck gold when I found Jesse.  Excellent Clinic also and always very accommodating.

Liam

I find Sarah fabulous at what she does and she is such a nice and warm person.  I look forward to my sessions with her and feel so much better after our sessions.
